First Things First: Putting the Kingdom of God Above the Noise

First Things First: Putting the Kingdom of God Above the Noise - Native Supply

The Scroll is the New Smoke Break

Let's keep it real. Most of us don’t “check our phones”—we live on them. We wake up to the timeline and fall asleep to the algorithm. Every spare moment gets swallowed by reels, group chats, and dopamine pings. But here’s the kicker: distraction isn’t neutral. It shapes what we value.

And if we’re not intentional, we’ll start treating God like a background tab in a browser full of noise.

Jesus Wasn’t in a Hurry—Why Are We?

Matthew 6:33 hits different in this era:

“But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Notice it doesn’t say seek God when you're done scrolling. Or after you crush your to-do list. Or once your anxiety calms down.
It says: First.

We chase peace, purpose, clarity—but ignore the Source. We keep running on red, wondering why our souls feel tired.

God’s Kingdom isn’t just a Sunday thing. It’s not an “add-to-cart” life hack. It’s a lifestyle of alignment. It’s priority over preference.

Kingdom Over Clout

Culture says: build your platform.
Jesus says: deny yourself.

Culture says: stay relevant.
Jesus says: remain faithful.

Let’s be honest: you can be “successful” in the eyes of the world and completely bankrupt in your soul. You can go viral and still feel invisible. The Kingdom is upside-down for a reason—it rescues us from fake glory and roots us in the real.

Kill the Noise Before It Kills Your Focus

Distraction is not just a convenience. It’s a weapon.
And Satan doesn’t need to destroy you if he can just keep you distracted.

You don’t have to be out here wildin’. You just have to be numb.
Too tired to pray. Too busy to care. Too stimulated to hear God’s voice.

But the Kingdom doesn’t compete for attention—it waits for surrender.

A King’s Focus in a Clown World

God’s Kingdom is about clarity in chaos. But you won’t stumble into it by accident.

You’ve got to choose:

  • Choose Scripture over scrolling.

  • Choose stillness over stimulation.

  • Choose presence over performance.

You don’t have to be perfect—you just have to be prioritized. God multiplies whatever we put first.

Practical Reflection

REFLECT: What’s the first thing you give your attention to when you wake up?
Is it your phone? The news? Notifications?
What would it look like to give that first moment to Jesus instead?

Set a 5-minute timer tomorrow morning and pray:

“Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.”
Then just sit. Still. Be Present.

A Prayer For You

Father, in a world full of noise, give me ears to hear Your voice.
Teach me to seek You first—not as an afterthought, but as the center.
Align my priorities with Your will.
Let Your Kingdom come in my life—on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
